About Sharon & Open Science
As the Open Science Librarian, Sharon’s goal is to advance UBC’s Fostering Open Science strategic initiative, which is being launched on the Okanagan campus. The fundamental aim of Open Science is to promote transparency and integrity in research and to increase the quality of the research process through robust replicable methods and open reporting. Sharon will work with an incumbent team on a planned pilot, participating in the development, deployment, and evaluation of a number of key projects targeting research and instruction in the context of Open Science on campus.
Sharon’s research interests include metrics for open science practices and the role of scripting and computer programming in librarianship.
