Discover our spaces
Our library is a vibrant learning space with access to support teaching and learning at UBC Okanagan. Our main library acts as a nexus of scholarly engagement and offers borrower services, technology lending, document delivery loans with the UBC Library in Vancouver, and more.
With its futuristic, state-of-the-art design, the Commons is anything but common—it is uniquely designed to foster collaboration, scholarly engagement and innovation. The Commons was generously funded by students and provides flexible and unique learning and study spaces on every floor.
The Innovation Library
The Innovation Library is a partnership between the UBC Okanagan Library and the Okanagan Regional Library (ORL). Conveniently located in downtown Kelowna at 1380 Ellis Street, the library supports all UBC students, faculty, and staff as well as community researchers in the Okanagan.
Okanagan Special Collections
The Okanagan Special Collections boasts a variety of resources—books, pamphlets, journal issues, DVDs, VHS, maps, etc.—created in and/or about the Okanagan-Similkameen, Columbia-Shuswap, and the Kootenays regions. Located on the lower floor of the Commons building, in COM004, our reading room, and the collections to which it connects, are available to everyone, within the UBC community and beyond.
As part of the UBC Okanagan Special Collections (OSC), the Archives collects materials related to local history, families, businesses, industries, etc. from the Okanagan-Similkameen, Columbia-Shuswap, and the Kootenays. Archival materials are accessible for research consultations.
Okanagan Regional Library at UBC Okanagan
The Okanagan Regional Library operates a branch on the first floor of the Library. Anyone with an ORL library card can take out books and put holds on books for pick-up. Students, faculty, and staff can access the branch during Library hours.
