Communications, Marketing, and Assessment Librarian

As the Communications, Marketing, and Assessment Librarian, Laura coordinates the communications and marketing of library services, including creating posters, running the library’s social media accounts, and assisting with library events. She is also responsible for library assessment through the collection and analysis of data and statistics about the Library to evaluate and improve library services and resources. Laura is also responsible for the management of the UBC Innovation Library, a collaboration between the UBC Okanagan Library and the Okanagan Regional Library (ORL) that supports all students, faculty, and staff from UBC’s Okanagan campus, as well as community researchers in the Okanagan. The UBC Innovation Library is conveniently located downtown on the 2nd floor of ORL’s Kelowna Branch (1380 Ellis Street).
Laura’s research interests include the transition from library education to professional academic librarian, the role of social media in academic libraries, and increased integration of user feedback in the development of library services and spaces.
