Browse this selection of books and films by Canadian creators to help celebrate the diverse experiences, voices, and stories of those who call this beautiful land our home.


For two years running, UBC Okanagan Library and Kelowna Museums have partnered to offer a singular, one-of-a-kind event that fosters 2SLGBTQIA+ community building and welcomes everyone to celebrate Pride through purchasing, trading, and reading zines.  


Okanagan Library has curated a list that features books from diverse authors with a focus on amplifying 2SLGBTQIA+ identities, experiences, and perspectives. Check out the list and borrow a book to help expand your understanding and to celebrate our 2SLGBTQIA+ community. 


This year, Mari Noble’s project, “Metaphors of Beauty and Power in the Okanagan: Human-Centric Transfer of Knowledge through Metaphoric Language” was awarded the Sharron Simpson Family Community Engagement Endowment Fund.


While the library has supported researchers involved in systematic, scoping and other knowledge synthesis review projects for decades, the demand for expert consultation services in a variety of disciplines rose steadily in recent years. Librarians on both campuses saw the opportunity to provide a more comprehensive solution.


UBC Okanagan Library is excited to have acquired a series of books written by UBC Okanagan student Philip Patrick.
