Bookable spaces

Bookable spaces are available in the Library, Commons, and EME buildings for all UBC Okanagan students, faculty, and staff. Before you book a space, please be aware of the following policies as they relate to all room bookings.

General Policies:

  • The Library Code of Conduct applies to all study rooms
  • Bookings can only be made by groups of two or more UBC students, staff, or faculty with the exception of COM 310A and 310C, which are reserved for graduate students
  • Bookings can be made for up to two hours at a time, for a maximum of three bookings per week, per person
  • Bookings can be made up to 14 days in advance
  • Groups who are more than 10 minutes late forfeit their booking time
  • Bookings may be cancelled due to unexpected circumstances and notification emails will be sent if this occurs

UBC Okanagan Library has two study rooms and a bookable recording studio. The Commons has 31 study rooms.

Only graduate students can book Graduate Study Rooms COM310A & COM310C on Floor 3 of The Commons. Request access by following the instructions.

Study Rooms are booked through LibCal. If you’re experiencing technical issues, please use the Report a Tech Support Issue link included at the bottom of the booking system page. For maintenance and cleaning issues or other questions, please contact library.admin@ubc.ca.

Informal learning spaces (not bookable)

There are many open and informal learning spaces at UBC Okanagan, including spaces in the Library, Commons, EME, and Arts buildings.

Library: Including the Lindsay Gordon Reading Room (LIB 115) and Field Reading Room (LIB 102)

The Commons: Including the D. Ross Fitzpatrick Great Hall (upper and lower), Galleria, Lois and Cliff Serwa Reading Room, and Graduate Commons.

Engineering, Management, and Education (EME): Including the lower level, mezzanine, and foyers.

Arts: Including the main foyer, atrium, and corridors.
