Opportunities at the Library

There are many opportunities to get involved with the UBC Okanagan Library, including both paid and volunteer positions.

Work with Us

Student Positions

The UBC Okanagan Library, including the Writing and Research Services unit, hires students on a regular basis for various positions including Learning and Technology Assistants, Writing Consultants, Graduate Writing Assistants, and Language Consultants as well as student assistants for project-based work. You can learn more about our positions on our Student Jobs page. The majority of our hiring takes place in the spring and early fall.

All of our student positions are posted on the UBC Okanagan Job Board or you can contact Lois Marshall, Manager, Planning and Operations, for more information.

Staff and Librarian Positions

Staff and librarian positions are posted on UBC Library’s Work with Us page.

Volunteer with Us

If you want to have a say in how your library, consider volunteering with the Student Library Advisory Council, a group students who help to improve the library and communicate the needs of students to library administration. Find out more about SLAC and how to get involved on the SLAC webpage.

You can also provide feedback to the library through our Questions, Comments & Suggestions form.

We also often have calls for volunteers to help us out with photo shoots or videos or to provide feedback on library services on our social media accounts. If you’d like to be kept on a mailing list to be contacted when we hold focus groups or other feedback events, please register here.
